King’s is passionate about child development and as well as organising the largest network of children’s camps in the UK, the King's Foundation works with children and young people in greatest need in both the UK and in the developing world. Perhaps your child is a future gold medal winner, or perhaps it's the taking part that counts, whatever their aim in sport, we are committed to helping them reach their potential. We know that for some children sport can be intimidating, whilst for other children sport is where they are most confident and happy. It is our priority to ensure that every child is made to feel unique and valued. Our camps help children to gain self-confidence and social skills through age-sensitive programmes that encourage and inspire them. It's also great to know that simply by having fun at our camps, your children are easily achieving the government's aim for school children of two hours exercise per week. We also promote healthy living on camps by encouraging everyone to bring healthy packed lunches and running National Healthy Lifestyle days.
King's Camps staff teams are selected for their ability to build a great camp atmosphere while encouraging each child to reach their potential.
King's Camps managers are qualified PE teachers with at least 2 years teaching experience while our coaches have national governing body qualifications in various sports and our swimming teachers are qualified with life-guard certification. We also employ qualified play leaders to work specifically with our 4-6 year olds.
All King's Camps staff are interviewed, provide professional and personal references, and are checked with an enhanced disclosure. All senior staff are experienced teachers or instructors and attend our Management Training and Development Programme. All of our coaches complete a comprehensive staff training programme that includes:
- Supervision of children.
- Child protection.
- First aid.
- Fire procedures.
- Equipment safety.
We endeavour to employ staff that represent the different ethnic groupings of children attending the camps.
King's Camps are located at the most prestigious and best equipped schools, universities and sports centres in the UK. Each venue is selected for its accessible location and the quality of its sports facilities. King's Camps venues provide the perfect environment for children to develop their sporting skills and enjoy a fun-filled summer camp.
With 15 years experience and the largest network of day camps in the UK, we have an exemplary health and safety history and your children’s safety is our priority. King’s Camps in the UK are registered with OFSTED and CSSIW in Wales. We are also members of the British Activity Holiday Association who carry out rigorous annual inspections. Find out more about
